In 1976, a group of concerned parents, frustrated by the shortage of affordable, high-quality childcare in the San Lorenzo Valley, set out to create the sort of program they wanted for their own children. The result, organized as a nonprofit cooperative, was the Children's Center of San Lorenzo Valley, which today continues to live up to the high standards set by that original group of active, caring parents.

CCSLV is more than just a caring, loving, safe place for young children. Its dedicated, highly-trained staff ensures that it's also an environment that actively promotes healthy, positive social and intellectual development. By starting local children on the path to becoming engaged, curious, involved community members, CCSLV is helping to build a better San Lorenzo Valley.
The Children's Center of San Lorenzo Valley is a fully licensed, state inspected, and insured childcare center dedicated to providing the highest quality care and educational programs for children and their families for over 25 years.
We participate in the State Food and Nutrition Program and are the only program in the San Lorenzo Valley to offer hot breakfast and lunch. We do not discriminate on the basis of color, disability, sex, race, religion or sexual preference. We are a non-profit organization and, as such, are partially funded by the County of Santa Cruz.
In recognition of the outstanding services we provide, the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) has awarded CCSLV its accreditation--a rare honor among the many childcare providers in our area.
CCSLV delivers its services through two separate programs: The Toddler Program serves children aged 12-30 months, after which children graduate to the Toddler Plus Program, for children aged 30-48 months. CCSLV is the only group (non-home-based) childcare facility in the San Lorenzo Valley to offer services for children as young as 12 months.
